Yes, you can issue DD directly from your savings bank account online.
This is How you can Generate Demand Draft Online
1) Login to your OnlineSBI account.
2) Click on ‘Payments/Transfers’ tab after logging in at retail.onlinesbi.com.
3) Now click on ‘Issue Demand Draft’ link.
4) Enter ‘Profile Password’ you made while setting up net banking for the first time.
5) Now enter the details of the Demand Draft.
6) Now you will be charged the commission for the DD. For me, the charge was Rs. 5 per Rs. 1000 i.e., 0.5%. Then verify details and confirm the transaction.
7) Then you will receive ‘High-Security Password’ (OTP) on your registered mobile number. Enter it and click ‘Confirm’.
8) Now you will get the ‘Transaction Reference Number’ along with the DD details. You will get the option for printing counterfoil option if you chose the ‘Collect in Person’ option. Print the counterfoil, take it with you to the branch during the bank working hours, show it to the bank official and collect the DD or you can choose courier option and get it delivered at your home.
